Public Urged to Resolve Tax Claims by End of 2024, Announces ISTD

Amman: The Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD) has reiterated its call for companies, establishments, and taxpayers to take advantage of the Cabinet's decision to extend the work of the Tax Settlement and Reconciliation Committee until the end of June for tax claims due up to December 31, 2024.

According to Jordan News Agency, the ISTD's statement issued on Tuesday highlighted that the decision allows taxpayers to submit settlement or installment applications online via the department's website. This opportunity enables them to benefit from exemptions and facilitations, based on the approved criteria.

The department emphasized that this process will assist in settling tax situations and clearing outstanding financial obligations from previous years. The settlement covers income and sales tax claims, regardless of their value, and includes cases with final court rulings, with the exception of those involving tax evasion.

Applications are free and can be submitted online through a dedicated form on the ISTD website, whether by the taxpayer or their representative. Taxpayers are encouraged to initiate action and utilize the available period to settle their outstanding tax claims.
