Public administration capacity-building initiative launched

Amman: An initiative to improve the skills of public sector employees in public administration was launched on Sunday by the Administration and Implementation Unit of the Public Sector Modernization Program at the Prime Minister’s Office.

The project, which is being undertaken in collaboration with the Institute of Public Administration, is the first in the human resources section of the Executive Program of the Public Sector Modernization Program for the year 2023.

With the help of the Italian Agency for Development, the first five weeks of this initiative will see 1,500 people engaged in three different training programs focused on integrated administrative skills, project management, and customer service.

This initiative targets employees in government institutions’ public service offices and call centers, institutional development officers, and employees with less than five years of experience, as well as project managers in government institutions and departments across all governorates.

During this phase, many different topics are covered, the most prominent of which are the public sector job, its concept and importance, the characteristics and advantages of distinguished service, the various types of service recipients, the concept and importance of project management, and the steps to take in order to create an efficient work plan for project management.

This is in addition to the many other skills one must acquire, such as keeping track of projects and finances, learning what kinds of administrative skills are useful, coping with stress at work, learning to adapt to new situations, and learning to direct one’s own efforts.
