Amman: The Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson has announced that the Cyber Crimes Unit is actively monitoring social media platforms and websites targeting Jordanian societal components. These platforms are reportedly spreading content aimed at inciting discord, stirring sectarian tensions, and undermining national unity.
According to Jordan News Agency, the PSD spokesperson confirmed that the unit has been diligently tracking and monitoring content across various platforms and websites, pursuing those responsible for publishing such divisive material. As a result, several individuals have been arrested and are set to be referred to the judiciary.
The spokesperson further revealed that numerous fake pages have been detected. These pages were specifically created to post content that incites division and damages societal cohesion. He urged the public to refrain from engaging with these posts by not following, sharing, or commenting on them.
Emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy, the spokesperson declared that there would be no leniency for those attempting to incite division or harm national unity. Legal action will be pursued against anyone trying to undermine unity and incite harmful sectarian tensions, actions which are in direct contradiction to the norms and laws of Jordanian society.
