PSD Director Inaugurates Jordanian International Civil Protection Center

Muwaqqar: Director of Public Security Directorate (PSD), Maj. Gen. Dr. Obeidallah Maaitah, inaugurated the Jordanian International Civil Protection Center at the Civil Defense Training City in Muwaqqar district. This center is noted as a significant training achievement, being the first of its kind in the region.

According to Jordan News Agency, the center’s accreditation by the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) marks it as a regional facility for transferring expertise in training and operations. It aims to qualify personnel in civil defense and protection from Arab and friendly countries.

At the opening ceremony, Maaitah highlighted that the center aligns with Royal directives to ensure openness and provide Jordanian expertise in civil protection. This initiative is expected to foster cooperation and integration in Arab and regional training.

Maaitah also emphasized that the center serves as a pioneering model for capacity building to tackle disasters and risks. The center operates under a comprehensive training system focused on enhancing rapid response skills, strategic crisis management planning, and leading rescue, evacuation, firefighting, and ambulance operations.

The PSD statement noted that the center is equipped with state-of-the-art training infrastructure, including simulation settings for realistic incident scenarios and training halls with advanced technical equipment. Additional facilities like gyms and training pools are included to enhance physical and operational efficiency through expert training programs.
