Paris: PSD chief Maaytah participated in the recent FIEP meetings held in Paris, where he commended the French presidency for its efforts in organizing the summit. He noted that such gatherings are crucial for enhancing global security and stability, providing a platform for security agencies to exchange expertise and best practices to address the growing challenges worldwide.
According to Jordan News Agency, Maaytah underscored the pivotal role of FIEP in fortifying security cooperation among member states. He emphasized the organization’s goals of fostering mutual understanding and developing strategic relations, which in turn facilitate the exchange of expertise to tackle pressing security issues efficiently.
Maaytah advocated for opening new horizons for joint cooperation among member states to combat emerging security threats. He highlighted the risks associated with artificial intelligence (AI), which has revolutionized both civil and security sectors, indicating its pivotal role in advancing police systems, monitoring, and data analysis.
However, Maaytah also pointed out the challenges posed by AI technologies, as criminal groups and illegal organizations increasingly exploit them for cyber attacks and spreading disinformation. He stressed the need for enhanced preparedness and international coordination to confront these threats effectively.
During the meetings, Maaytah engaged with several heads, commanders, and directors of police and gendarmerie agencies from participating countries, discussing ways to enhance joint cooperation and share expertise in various policing and security fields.
