The first phase of a program to enhance the capabilities of the local community in Aqaba has wrapped up its activities, according to a statement by the Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) on Thursday. The program, a joint effort between the ADC, the central development arm of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, and the Jordan River Foundation’s Community Empowerment Program, falls within the framework of the company’s commitment to the local community in Aqaba and social responsibility. CEO of the Company Hussein Safadi said the ADC implemented many community activities and initiatives in the port city, pointing to its support for the Jordan River Foundation and the Jordan Red Crescent Society to run a summer club for children in the Salah al-Din neighborhood for two consecutive years, in addition to the Aqaba Youth Club by changing the stadium floors. He stressed the company’s commitment to providing support to the poor members of the local community.
