Brussels: Princess Rym Ali, Chairwoman of the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF), emphasized the urgent need to empower young people to maintain hope in a world that often disappoints their aspirations. Her statements were made during a series of meetings in Brussels, Belgium.
According to Jordan News Agency, during her visit, Princess Rym engaged in bilateral discussions with key European Union figures, including the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Deputy European Commission President Kaja Kallas, and Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka ?uica. She was accompanied by Josep Ferr©, the foundation’s Executive Director.
Princess Rym conveyed the foundation’s readiness to partake in the upcoming consultation process on the Mediterranean Charter. She proposed an approach that bridges generations and incorporates civil society perspectives, all while taking into account the Euro-Mediterranean dimensions.
This initiative is set to enhance the discussions at the Anna Lindh Forum, scheduled to take place in Tirana, Albania, from June 18 to 20, 2025. The event aims to gather around 1,000 participants, including civil society organizations, youth leaders, media representatives, influencers, policymakers, and other stakeholders from 43 Euro-Mediterranean countries.
“It is imperative in today’s world to empower youth to maintain hope, as many aspects of life fail to meet their expectations,” Princess Rym stated. She added that the forum could offer a glimmer of hope by providing opportunities for knowledge-sharing, action-driven engagement, and cultural unity, enabling young people to rally around a shared vision for their future.
