Princess Dana attends graduation ceremony of ‘Heritage for Yemen’s Generations’ project

Princess Dana Firas, president of Petra National Trust (PNT) and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Cultural Heritage, sponsored the graduation ceremony of “Training of Trainers” program for Yemeni and Jordanian teachers, within the “Heritage for Yemen’s Generations” project.

Organized by the PNT, the event is held, as part of the project’s activities, carried out in cooperation with Yemeni Ministry of Education and funded by the International alliance for the protection of heritage in conflict areas (ALIPH), according to its statement issued Sunday.

During the ceremony held at the Royal Cultural Center, Her Highness handed training accreditation certificates to the graduate teachers.

The project will support the Yemeni Ministry of Education to implement the cultural heritage programme in 10 schools in the city of Aden at the beginning of next May, the statement said.

The PNT is developing an extracurricular educational programme for children of the age group (7-12) in Yemen, where an intensive training programme will be held for Yemeni teachers and educational supervisors in Jordan to enable them to implement the programme in Yemen.

The programme aims to instill awareness among the participants of the importance of cultural heritage, and enhance their sense of ownership and preservation of their heritage sites through interactive learning methods.
