Amman: Her Royal Highness Princess Basma bint Talal, Chairperson of the Higher Committee of the Charity and Benevolence Campaign, delivered aid to women-led households in Amman’s Jabal Al-Natheef area. The event took place at the Jabal Al-Natheef Zakat and Charity Committee headquarters.
According to Jordan News Agency, Princess Basma emphasized the campaign’s dedication to supporting national efforts to enhance the living and economic conditions of underprivileged families across the nation. She highlighted the campaign’s focus on aiding families, especially those led by women, to achieve self-reliance through sustainable development interventions such as income-generating projects.
During the handover ceremony, Princess Basma expressed appreciation for the support from national institutions that partner with the campaign. She noted that these collaborations are vital for achieving the campaign’s goals and promoting social solidarity. The Princess also recognized the efforts of the Jabal Al-Natheef Zakat and Charity Committee in supporting impoverished families.
Sayed Abu Shanab, head of the committee, mentioned that they provide monthly assistance to around 500 families in the area and support family members in pursuing university education. The committee aims to create income-generating projects for women and offer training in product marketing through its partnership with the campaign.
Looking ahead, Princess Basma was informed about future interventions planned in collaboration with partners. These include providing essential aid to target families and distance learning cards for General Secondary Education Certificate (Tawjihi) students. The Princess also visited two homes of needy families to assess their living conditions and pledged the campaign’s assistance for home maintenance and securing essential needs.
