The government’s fuel pricing committee on Thursday decided to raise the prices of a number of fuel derivatives for July.
The price of one litre of unleaded 90-octane gasoline, diesel and kerosene went up by JD0.35 in July, , according to an Energy Ministry statement.
Meanwhile, the price per litre of unleaded 95-octane gasoline has been increased by JD.060 in July, the statement added.
The price of one litre of unleaded 90-octane gasoline will sell at JD0.955 in July, compared to JD0.920 in June.
The price per litre of unleaded 95-octane gasoline has been increased to JD1.240 in July, compared with JD1.180 in June.
The price of one litre of diesel and kerosene will sell at JD0.720 each in July, against JD0.685 in June, and the price of gas cylinders, as usual, remains at JD7.
The decision came during the committee’s monthly meeting, which was held on Thursday, to determine the prices of selling oil derivatives locally for next July 1-31, and based on the government’s directives to raise prices of oil derivatives, in line with the policy of gradually lifting subsidies.
Referring to international oil prices, the committee found a “noticeable” rise in different rates on the global prices of the main derivatives (gasoline of all kinds, diesel and kerosene), the statement noted.
The average price of Brent crude in the current month of June rose to $123.9 per barrel, compared to $112.7 recorded in last May, with an increase of about 10 percent.
