The local authority in Saada governorate held a press conference on performance indicators and achievements for the year 1444 AH under the slogan “A hand that protects, a hand that builds.”
The conference, in the presence of the Governor of Saada, Muhammad Jaber Awad, and the governorate’s agents and advisors, reviewed the development and service indicators and completed projects for the past year.
The conference touched on the level of implementation of community and agricultural initiatives, ways to support them, administrative and institutional reforms, efforts to mobilize and support the fronts, paths of development and institutional building, and the level of performance of the local authority.
The governor of Saada pointed to the importance of the press conference to highlight the projects of the province for the year 1444 AH, and the successes it had, despite the destruction of the aggression that affected the infrastructure.
He pointed out that the governorate is witnessing today the beginning of the recovery phase in order to serve the community, which contributes during the stage with extensive efforts… reviewing the great state of destruction that the governorate was subjected to by the aggression coalition.
The Governor of Saada extended his greetings and appreciation to the loyal and steadfast workers in the offices and directorates who have no other interest than serving the governorate and its residents.
While the Director of the Planning and Development Office, Dr. Nasser Harban, reviewed the governorate’s performance indicators and achievements report for the year 1444 AH.
He explained that the governorate received great attention and made many achievements beyond what was mentioned in the report, especially in the service, institutional and social aspects.
He stated that the projects completed and being implemented in the agricultural field amounted to 14 projects at a cost of 391 million, 821 thousand riyals and 420 thousand dollars distributed between local financing, the Social Fund for Development and the Public Works Project,
and the implementation of 39 agricultural initiatives at a cost of four billion and 959 million and 158 thousand riyals distributed between the establishment of Barriers, caravans and barrier maintenance.
Harban stated that the number of completed dams was 39, including four strategic dams, while the area of arable land in the governorate reached 40,722 hectares, 30,267 hectares are cultivated, while the Bonyan Foundation implemented training projects for 1,250 development riders in 12 districts, including wounded people, students, and beekeepers.
In the field of roads, the report indicated that the number of completed projects amounted to 44 projects at a cost of three billion, 401 million and 423 thousand riyals and 365 thousand dollars, and 83 community initiatives at 53 billion, 24 million and 643 thousand riyals, including nine local contribution initiatives at 61 million and 920 thousand riyals.
On the service side, in the fields of education, water and health, the report stated that 204 projects were implemented at a cost of seven billion and 736 million and 104 thousand riyals, and eight million and 911 thousand dollars.
In the field of institutional building, the report reviewed the implemented projects, which numbered nine projects, at a cost of 108 million and 360 thousand riyals, with local funding, distributed among training, qualification, administrative and institutional reform, and changing and rotating 48 of general directors.
The humanitarian field in the governorate enjoyed many activities and projects, including the field of social solidarity and humanitarian interventions, of which 82 projects were implemented, five thousand, 441 families and 320 projects in health, water, education, agriculture, and cash.
With regard to supporting and assisting the displaced, the poor and the needy, the report indicated that the Awqaf Authority provided support to 2,695 beneficiaries with a total of 60,830,000 riyals, and 990 beneficiaries with a total of 28 million riyals from the local authority.
15 thousand and 779 beneficiary families with a total of five billion and 909 million riyals provided through the branch of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, and 57 thousand beneficiaries, with a total of one billion and 516 million and 91 thousand riyals from the Zakat Authority.
According to the report, community initiatives contributed to the development aspect, through the implementation of 448 initiatives in the fields of agriculture, education, roads, health, water and mosques, with an amount exceeding five billion riyals.
According to the report, the network connection between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and its office in the governorate was activated, and eight tons of damaged and expired materials and 1,219 catering violations were seized, while six branches of the office were opened in six directorates.
Regarding the judicial field, the report confirmed that 2,021 cases were completed and were received by the Court of Appeal, and 2,193 cases were completed and were received by the Court of First Instance.
The report stated that the Zakat Authority’s projects amounted to 11 projects at a cost of two billion and 523 million and 97 thousand, which contributed to helping 84 thousand and 186 beneficiaries, while the Endowments Authority implemented 16 projects at a cost of 989 million riyals.
The report also confirmed that the Social Affairs Office contributed to disbursing cash assistance to 970 children, at a cost of 69 million riyals, digging a charitable well at a cost of three million riyals with charitable funding, and establishing a school for the blind.
The report said: In the field of traffic, licenses were issued for 1,500 violating vehicles, 2,680 numbered cars, 867 driving licences, 499 vehicle ownership transfers, 760 replacement cards for lost and damaged ones, 1,175 car card renewals.
The report stated that the Civil Status Authority branch in Saada issued 14,712 personal documents, 1,248 family cards, and 1,500 birth certificates.
The report indicated that the social construction projects amounted to nine locally funded projects, at a cost of 154 million and 800 thousand riyals, and the establishment of 1,337 Holy Qur’an schools, which accommodated 41,380 students, and the solution of 30 community issues and 19 murder cases, in addition to addressing hundreds of community issues.
