Preliminary Hajj Registration Deadline Approaches for Jordanians and Gaza Residents

Amman: The preliminary registration period for Jordanians and residents of the Gaza Strip wishing to perform Hajj is set to end this Sunday evening. The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Places announced the start of the registration period on October 5, providing an online platform for applicants to register between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.

According to Jordan News Agency, eligibility for performing Hajj requires applicants to meet specific criteria. The original applicant must be born on or after December 31, 1980, and must not have previously performed the pilgrimage. Additionally, they must present a certificate from the Ministry of Health verifying that they do not suffer from heart, lung, liver, or kidney failure.

The health requirements extend to neurological and psychological conditions that impair cognition or cause severe motor impairment, as per the instructions of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. Alongside these criteria, applicants are required to pay a refundable amount of JD200. This payment can be made through eFAWATEERcom or at any branch of the Jordan Islamic Bank or Safwa Islamic Bank.
