Police arrest drug smuggler with ties to regional crime organizations

Amman: Police arrested a wanted man classified as “armed and dangerous,” who is suspected to be one of the main narcotics dealers in Jordan and connected to regional smuggling networks.

The Public Security Department’s spokesman on Thursday said the suspect is wanted for 10 charges related to drug dealing and smuggling but has been laying low and continuously changing his hideouts to evade arrest.

After months of investigations, the team assigned to the case apprehended the dealer while on the move in the Ruwaished area in the Mafraq governorate, confiscating two firearms and 10,000 narcotic pills, added the spokesman.
