PNT launches 2nd phase of digital empowerment training project for Petra cultural heritage associations

Last Saturday, Petra National Trust (PNT) has launched the practical phase of the digital empowerment training project for 13 local cultural heritage associations in Petra.

This project was funded by The International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Areas (ALIPH). The launch event was attended by H.E Dr. Sulaiman Farajat, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, Dr. Bandar Al Zabin Petra Region Governor, Mr. Abdullah Abu Rumman, the Executive Director of PNT, and a representative of the Directorate of Education of Petra Region along with the trainees from the 13 associations participating in the project.

During this 6-day phase, participants received a training conducted by professional trainers on the advanced use of social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram) for commercial purposes, E-marketing, Business Email properties, and other remote business management tools, in addition to ZOOM platform training to keep pace with the global trends imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

PNT has also produced a promotional video to help promote local associations and marketing their products and work. PNT has also distributed laptops and financial aids to all 13 associations participating in the project to support associations to achieve a smoother digital business transmission.

This project is part of PNT’s efforts in mitigating the direct impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on local economies.
