PM Meets National Charter Party Bloc, Discusses Social Security Draft Law

Amman: Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan met on Monday with the National Charter Party Bloc to discuss issues raised regarding the draft Social Security Law. Bloc head MP Ibrahim Al-Tarawneh said in a statement that bloc members focused on amendments related to early retirement and old-age provisions and conveyed all citizens' observations on the draft law to the government.

According to Jordan News Agency, the prime minister dealt seriously and attentively with these observations, stressing that the government is open to all opinions and ideas to produce a law that achieves the highest levels of national consensus, serves citizens' interests, and preserves their rights in the short and long term.

Al-Tarawneh stated that if the draft law is referred to the Lower House, it will be thoroughly discussed there to ensure that all proposals are carefully considered. This includes any amendments that balance the rights of contributors with the sustainability of the Social Security Corporation, serving the public interest and maintaining the strength of the insurance system.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the executive and legislative branches and continuing dialogue and coordination to support effective joint national work. This initiative aims to address outstanding issues with full responsibility.
