Intensely piled snow in western areas of Germany have left three main highways blocked and truck traffic suspended. The truck traffic suspension, in turn, led to bottlenecks over several kilometers northeast Frankfort, in addition to road maintenance vehicles, local media reported. Red Cross teams were deployed to provide the drivers with blankets and warm drinks, the media quoted spokesman for the police as saying. Technical assistance and towing services were summoned to push or tow trucks, media added, but it was hard to reach out the affected areas because of the hugely layered snow.
