PHA, WHO Discuss Health Cooperation and Aid for Gaza

Amman: Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association (PHA), Dr. Fawzi Hamouri, met with Dr. Iman Shanqeeti, the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Jordan, to explore avenues for joint cooperation in the health sector.

According to Jordan News Agency, Dr. Shanqeeti lauded the efforts of the PHA and private hospitals in delivering medical services across various specialties and advancing public health initiatives. She emphasized WHO’s commitment to ongoing collaboration with the PHA and expressed admiration for Jordan’s role in supporting Gaza’s population.

Dr. Hamouri reiterated the PHA’s dedication to fostering partnerships with WHO and enhancing communication with international health organizations. He acknowledged WHO’s significant contribution to medical evacuation operations from the Gaza Strip.

Highlighting the “Gaza Health” initiative, Dr. Hamouri described it as a global coalition focused on reconstructing Gaza’s health infrastructure. The initiative has been instrumental in organizing conferences and initiating numerous projects aimed at short, medium, and long-term improvements, in addition to dispatching aid and medical teams to the region regularly.
