Petra: The Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) has announced the organization of a series of special events to commemorate World Tourism Day. These events are being held concurrently with the New7Wonders Summit from September 24 to 27 in Petra.
According to Jordan News Agency, the PDTRA’s statement detailed that the events will include tours of Petra’s archaeological sites, cultural and artistic performances, and specialized panel discussions focused on sustainable tourism. Additionally, the activities will feature the signing of local and international cooperation agreements and community and handicraft initiatives designed to highlight Nabataean heritage.
PDTRA Chairman, Fares Breizat, emphasized in remarks to “Petra” that these activities present a significant opportunity to showcase Petra’s status on the global travel map. Furthermore, they aim to reinforce its presence as one of the world’s key heritage sites. The participation of media is expected to amplify Petra’s message to an international audience.
