Ramtha: Over 7,000 individuals in the Ramtha district are benefiting from the National Aid Fund’s initiatives, as confirmed by Mousa Shboul, the Director of Social Development in the area. The beneficiaries include 1,221 people enrolled in the Protection Program and 5,896 participating in the Unified Cash Support Program.
According to Jordan News Agency, these details were revealed during an awareness session focused on developmental and social services. The session was organized by the Jordanian Women’s Union Association (JWU) – Ramtha Branch, in collaboration with Alaq Cultural Forum. Shboul mentioned that the Social Development Department is currently serving 41 registered associations within the district and is actively working on improving living conditions by renovating and building homes for disadvantaged families. Additionally, the department promotes economic empowerment through low-interest loans aimed at helping families and individuals start income-generating projects.
Barihan Khasawneh, the Director of the National Aid Fund in Ramtha, provided further insights into the fund’s financial aid programs. These programs are tailored for low-income families, elderly individuals, orphans, patients, and those lacking providers. In emergencies such as natural disasters, deaths, or forced displacements, the fund offers emergency assistance following thorough assessments.
Khasawneh also highlighted that the fund covers immediate medical needs, including medication costs and medical checkups. It further supports vocational training, physical rehabilitation, and the installation of solar energy systems to reduce financial strain on the beneficiary families.
Hamada Zoubi, Head of the JWU in Ramtha, emphasized the importance of the awareness session, stating that it aligns with the union’s goals to educate residents about the social development services available in the region.
