Officials Evaluate Readiness for 40th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts

Jerash: Relevant authorities convened at the Greater Jerash Municipality to assess preparations for the 40th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, with a focus on enhancing logistical and organizational readiness and strengthening coordination among stakeholders. Jerash Governor Malek Khraisat highlighted the significance of the Jerash Festival as a leading national cultural event that represents Jordan's heritage and cultural depth. He emphasized the need for continued inter-agency coordination to ensure the success of the upcoming edition and to raise preparedness across all operational levels, reinforcing Jerash Governorate's status as a hub of history, culture, and tourism.

According to Jordan News Agency, Mohammad Bani Yassin, head of the Greater Jerash Municipality Committee, stated that the municipality plays a central role in providing logistical and service support during the festival. This includes cleaning, maintenance, preparation, and upgrading public services before, during, and after the event to ensure operational continuity. He added that municipal operations are coordinated through an integrated system of committees, ensuring institutional cohesion across service, cultural, field, and media dimensions.

Bani Yassin explained that the meeting aimed to review operational tasks, assess municipal responsibilities, and enhance joint coordination to deliver the festival in a manner befitting Jerash's historical and cultural significance. Director of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, Yazan Khudair, noted that the festival is a key economic driver for Jerash Governorate, contributing to the local economy through job creation and increased income opportunities for residents during its duration.

Khudair remarked that the 40th edition comes at an exceptional stage, requiring intensified efforts and closer coordination among institutions to present the event in line with the festival's standing and Jordan's cultural message. Discussions also covered logistical and operational arrangements for festival venues, the terms of a cooperation agreement between the Greater Jerash Municipality and the festival administration, and mechanisms to strengthen coordination among official, security, and service entities.

The meeting is part of ongoing preparations ahead of the festival's launch, reflecting a participatory approach and continuous field coordination aimed at enhancing readiness and consolidating Jerash Festival's position as one of the region's most prominent cultural events.
