NREC: Leased facility occupancy in 2022 at 100%

Aqaba’s National Real Estate Company (NREC), is a leading provider of investment logistic services and light industries in Jordan and the Middle East, managed to attract new global, regional and local investments.

Occupancy rate in the built and leased areas for investment companies, whether storage or industrial buildings, hit 100% during 2022, while occupancy in open spaces stood at 50% during the same year, NREC announced.

In a press statement Saturday, NREC CEO, Sharif Kamal, referred to discussions with Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) in its capacity as the land owner to sell lands for investment purposes, in accordance with the legislation governing these purposes in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and its development arm, ADC.

Occupancy rate in 2022 increased compared to 2021, as leased open spaces increased to approximately 91,000 square meters, while warehouses areas went up to about 4, 000 square meters, he said.

NREC also successfully attracted various industrial and logistical investments, mostly concentrated in food, car armor, chemical additives, tobacco and glass, which are high-value-added investments that provide national job opportunities, he noted, adding that Jordanian employees exceeds 70% of the total manpower.

On future plans, Kamal said NREC is working to launch real estate investment opportunities with a “new” concept and provide a modern and attractive investment climate by providing storage spaces, industrial facilities and modern and integrated infrastructure.
