NPC Opens Bidding for 80-Well Risha Gas Field Drilling Project

Amman: The National Petroleum Company (NPC) has announced a pre-qualification tender for a Lump Sum Turnkey (LSTK) contract to drill 80 gas wells at the Risha Gas Field within three years.

According to Jordan News Agency, the NPC is seeking qualified contractors for the ambitious 80-well drilling project as part of its strategy to boost gas production, with potential extensions based on performance. The project necessitates the use of three drilling rigs, each with a power capacity of between 1500 and 2000 horsepower.

The NPC has acknowledged that the current revenues are insufficient to cover the full costs of drilling. To address this, the government is set to contribute 87 million Jordanian Dinars, while the remaining expenses will be funded by gas sales.

The tender is designed to enhance drilling efficiency and increase output from the Risha Gas Field. Interested and qualified drilling contractors are encouraged to submit their bids.

Tender details can be found on the NPC website [www.npc.com] and in
daily newspapers. All bids must be submitted by April 15, 2025.
