Amman:Jordanian technology companies are being offered a new framework to transform their participation in exhibitions and trade missions into tangible sales, partnerships, and market expansion, with a guide launched by the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (int@j).
According to Jordan News Agency, the "Exhibitions and Trade Missions Excellence Guide" was introduced under the theme "A Roadmap for Jordanian Technology Companies to Grow and Expand." This guide aims to change companies' approach to trade events from just covering attendance and operational costs to making strategic investments that yield measurable and sustainable returns, as stated by int@j.
The guide is directed at ICT companies of various sizes, with a particular focus on startups and small and medium-sized enterprises. It also targets sales, marketing, and business development teams, along with employees representing their companies at local, regional, and international events.
As trade shows increasingly become vital platforms for entering new markets, connecting with customers, investors, and potential partners, the guide outlines a comprehensive participation cycle. This cycle includes selecting relevant events, preparing for them, managing engagement on-site, and following up on potential business opportunities afterward.
Additionally, the guide covers essential areas such as staff training, trade missions, business forums, and practical tools for measuring results. It identifies global and specialized exhibitions, including those in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and financial technology, which could present opportunities for Jordanian companies.
The preparation phase advises companies to set measurable objectives, research markets, and competitors, and prepare marketing materials. During exhibitions, proactive engagement is recommended, with teams encouraged to schedule meetings, perform product demonstrations, and directly engage with targeted companies.
The post-event stage emphasizes converting contacts into commercial opportunities, advising companies to follow up promptly, and tailor communications to identified needs. The guide also includes checklists, templates, and tools to support the entire process.
int@j CEO Nidal Bitar highlighted the guide's foundation on the association's extensive experience in organizing Jordanian national pavilions and trade missions. He emphasized that successful participation relies on early preparation, professional execution, and systematic follow-up, ultimately aiming to maximize the commercial value of exhibitions and expand Jordanian firms' presence in external markets.
