New Electronic Service Streamlines Approval for Used Electric Vehicles.

Amman: The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) has launched a new electronic service designed to approve used electric vehicles that successfully pass technical inspections. This initiative aims to simplify and expedite the registration process for these vehicles, offering a streamlined experience for importers.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Director-General of JSMO, Abeer Al-Zuhair, announced that the new online platform allows importers to electronically register their information and vehicle details. The platform also enables importers to track the progress of their applications through stages such as document review, inspections at certified centers, and the final decision regarding vehicle approval.

This move is part of broader efforts to streamline procedures for vehicles stored in free zones or bonded warehouses, aligning with a Cabinet decision to reduce taxes on electric vehicles. Al-Zuhair emphasized that automating this process will enhance efficiency, reduce processing time
, and alleviate burdens on both importers and employees.

Al-Zuhair further highlighted that the service improves transparency by enabling users to monitor their requests and generate accurate reports. With the platform being available 24/7, importers and stakeholders have easy access, facilitating smoother operations.

JSMO’s ongoing efforts to facilitate procedures across various sectors underline its commitment to delivering high-quality services. The organization continues to focus on enforcing technical regulations, standards, and governing legislation for all products and services.
