NCFA pilots automated domestic violence case management system

Amman, The National Council for Family Affairs and UNICEF on Sunday launched an automated domestic violence case management system that will be tested out by service providers for six months.

The new system will be put to action in eastern Amman-based facilities affiliated with the Juvenile and Family Protection Department, a division of the Public Security Directorate, the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, and the Jordan River Foundation.

The system, according to the Council, is based on the national framework for family protection from violence, national policies, and service providers’ practices in a way that establishes a uniform case management methodology and clarifies the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders.

The Council emphasized the importance of the service provider using the system as a foundation for comprehensive case management from the time a case is received, through the time an intervention plan is developed and a referral is made to a partner institution, and finally until the case file is closed.

The system, according to the Council, was developed by all stakeholders in the national social protection ecosystem with financial and technical support from UNICEF and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

The pilot phase will be supervised by Leading Point, an Amman-based management advisory service provider, to make sure that the system is utilized by all users and that technical support is available.

All parties involved will be consulted at regular intervals to assess the system’s efficacy before its nationwide rollout.
