Amman: Director General of National Aid Fund (NAF), Khitam Shnikat, met with Ousmane Dione, World Bank Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa, to discuss the fund’s ongoing social assistance programs aimed at the Kingdom’s target groups.
According to Jordan News Agency, Shnikat provided an overview of NAF’s services, focusing on the support and assistance given to impoverished and needy families through initiatives such as the Unified Cash Support Program. Shnikat highlighted the role of these programs in establishing a standard of living for underprivileged households to meet their basic needs.
Shnikat emphasized the World Bank’s technical and technological contributions to enhancing NAF’s operations. The computer infrastructure, developed in collaboration with the World Bank and other international organizations, plays a part in executing NAF’s programs according to international standards in social protection.
Additionally, Shnikat underscored NAF’s commitment to economic empowerment, aiming to foster a culture that aligns with the economic challenges poor families face. She noted that NAF prioritizes training and employment as key components of its strategic objectives.
Meanwhile, Dione commended the efforts to uplift impoverished households’ living conditions and expressed the World Bank’s interest in deepening the level of cooperation with NAF.
