Mountain-climbing fundraiser for poor cancer patients kicks off

Amman: The Seven Mountains Youth Initiative, now in its fifth year, kicked off on Sunday with the goal of climbing Mount Meru in Tanzania and raising $100,000 to be donated to the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) to help treat children from low-income families who cannot otherwise afford medical care.

Director General of the KHCC Nisreen Qatamish and the Founder of the Seven Mountains initiative Loay Shomali renewed the cooperation agreement and announced the names of 20 young men and women who will climb Mount Meru.
