MoU Signed to Boost Entrepreneurship and Business Environment in Jordan

Amman: Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Jordanian Association for Entrepreneurship (JAE) to enhance cooperation in economic relations, specifically targeting the Jordanian business community. The agreement aims to foster joint activities such as conferences and forums that will benefit both organizations’ members and promote economic relations and communication.

According to Jordan News Agency, the MoU focuses on facilitating the exchange of expertise and information on development opportunities within Jordan’s economic sectors. The agreement also seeks to establish strategic partnerships to improve the business environment in the Kingdom.

In a statement, JBA Director General Tariq Hijazi emphasized the importance of building relationships with civil society institutions in Jordan’s private sector. He noted JBA’s commitment to networking with economic actors to serve national interests, particularly in fostering entrepreneurship among Jordanian youth. Hijazi highlighted the significance of local entrepreneurship as a component of the comprehensive reform process, integral to the Economic Modernization Vision.

Hijazi also addressed the role of entrepreneurship in leveraging economic opportunities, advocating for the development of projects in artificial intelligence and digital transformation. These efforts aim to strengthen infrastructure, create job opportunities for Jordanian youth, and enhance the competitiveness of economic sectors.

Dr. Laith Qhaiwi, JAE Head, described the cooperation as a strategic move to improve Jordan’s entrepreneurship and innovation landscape. He mentioned that the partnership integrates entrepreneurial expertise and investment support, aligning with Royal directives and bolstering the private sector’s role in the business environment.

Qhaiwi emphasized the need to empower youth in entrepreneurship, especially in emerging and medium-sized enterprises, due to their potential to drive economic growth and innovation. He called for enhanced marketing and support for youth-produced products to stimulate economic activity.
