Moderate summer weather forecast in highlands

Temperatures are expected to mark few degrees below annual average, with moderate summer conditions prevailing in the highlands and the plains, while it will be hot in the Badia areas, the Jordan Valley and Aqaba, with low clouds, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its forecast for Sunday and Monday.

As we head into Tuesday, a slight rise in mercury levels is forecast, brining relatively hot weather in the hilly areas and the plains, and hot conditions in other regions, with clouds at high and medium altitudes in the southern and eastern parts of the country, the meteorologists predicted.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom today will range between 30 and 26 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 17C or even 13C in the southern highlands. In the Gulf city of Aqaba, it will be much hotter with mercury reaching a high of 38C and a low of 26C.
