The Ministry of Local Administration Tuesday declared a moderate state of emergency across the Kingdom starting Tuesday afternoon until Thursday as unstable weather conditions are expected to affect the country.
The Ministry called on operations rooms in municipalities and joint service councils in Amman, the governorates and districts to be on alert to deal with weather-related accidents.
It asked municipalities to ensure that machinery, equipment and emergency response teams are ready and to follow up on the situation in valleys where flash floods can form, as well as the condition of ferries and main roads.
The Ministry urged municipalities to coordinate with administrative governors, operations and emergency rooms of the Ministries of Public Works and Interior, the Civil Defense Directorate, the Armed Forces and the Greater Amman Municipality.
