Zarqa: The Jordan Medical Aid for Palestinians (Map Jordan) inaugurated a mobile clinic on Monday in the Soukhna Camp in Zarqa Governorate. The initiative represents a significant effort to improve healthcare access for Palestinian refugees in the region.
According to Jordan News Agency, the clinic, funded by the Indonesian organization “Baznas”, marks a significant step in delivering healthcare services. The clinic is designed to enhance primary healthcare for camp residents and those in need across different areas of Zarqa, located 20 km northeast of Amman. It will travel between locations to bring medical services to the most vulnerable populations, embodying Map Jordan’s humanitarian mission to provide care without barriers.
Map Jordan seeks to address the healthcare needs of Palestinian refugees in camps and surrounding villages through its medical centers in Hittin, Jerash, Talbiyeh, and Soukhna camps. The mobile clinic initiative is an extension of these efforts, ensuring that even the most isolated
individuals receive necessary medical attention.
The launching ceremony was attended by Zarqa Governor, Firas Abu Qaoud and Map Jordan chairman Michel Al-Sayegh, alongside representatives from various organizations and charitable stakeholders. Their presence underscored the collaborative effort required to address healthcare challenges in refugee communities.
