Amman: Fees and charges that students should pay to service offices assisting higher education institutions now have financial caps, according to applicable legislation, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced, warning against exceeding these ceilings.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry's statement emphasized that any amounts collected outside the specified framework constitute a "clear" violation. The guidelines are based on the Fees and Charges Instructions for Student Services Offices at Higher Education Institutions No. (3) of 2014.
The ministry detailed that for students wishing to study abroad, the financial caps are set at a maximum fee of JD150 for completing the admission process at Arab universities, and JD300 for handling the registration process, which includes all requirements up to enrollment.
For foreign universities, the ministry stated that the maximum fee for processing the admission process is JD200, while JD400 is set for completing the registration process. Moreover, branches of foreign universities in Arab countries will be treated equally as their Arab counterparts in terms of financial limits.
For non-Jordanian students planning to study in Jordan, a maximum fee of JD500 is established for both the admission and registration processes combined, encompassing all requirements including enrollment.
The ministry urged students and their parents to avoid paying any additional amounts that exceed these limits and advised them to retain official receipts to safeguard their rights.
