Minister says time ripe for worldwide grid integration

Amman, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh has said Sunday that it is now time to link all countries to a single electricity transmission network, beginning with the countries in the northern and southern Mediterranean.

Speaking at IRENA’s 13th general assembly, which got underway in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), yesterday, the minister reaffirmed Jordan’s goal of becoming a hub for the production and export of green energy, whether it takes the form of green electricity or green hydrogen.

On the sidelines of his participation in IRENA’s 13th general assembly, the minister met with the CEO of the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” Muhammad Jamil Ramahi, and discussed with him Masdar’s investments in renewable energy in Jordan and the possibility of the company taking part in future projects in the Kingdom.
