Minister says “safe summer” goal achieved

State Minister for Media Affairs and Government Spokesperson, Sakhr Dudin, has said that the Kingdom has succeeded in achieving the strategic goal of reaching a safe summer, the full reopening of all sectors and returning to face-to-face education in the next academic year.

“We are on a very good track in terms of vaccination rates,” Dudin said in a press remarks on Wednesday, adding that the target is 4.5 million vaccinated people. However, the minister indicated that there are people, over 60-year-old, who have not signed up for vaccination yet.

“Vaccination is the lifeline to control any wave of the coronavirus”, the minister emphasized, noting that the number of those who have received the vaccine until July is north of 2.5-million.

It is expected, Dudin pointed, that the number will reach 4.5 million by September this year.
