Minister says Jordan one of world’s top religious tourism destinations

Amman, Jordan’s religious and cultural diversity, as well as its commitment to tolerance and coexistence, make it one of the most significant and well-known destinations for religious travelers worldwide, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef Hamidi al-Fayez said on Tuesday.

The minister made his remarks during a meeting with Lebanon’s Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi.

The Baptism Site in the Jordan Valley and other religious sites, including Mount Nebo, Tel Mar Elias, Mukawer, Lady of the Mountain Church, the minister indicated, are religious tourism destinations that hold great significance for Christian pilgrims.

Patriarch Al-Rahi appreciated Jordan’s support for Lebanon and its people, praising the Kingdom’s tolerance and religious coexistence.
