Minister Emphasizes Youth Engagement in Political and Public Life

Amman: Minister of Government Communications Mohammad Momani highlighted the essential role of younger Jordanians in engaging with decisions and policies during his participation in the “Preparing Youth Leaders” programme. Momani stressed the importance of media in promoting distinguished programmes and achievements that align with the objectives and aspirations of the youth.

According to Jordan News Agency, Momani addressed younger participants from the central governorates in a dialogue session at the training camp. He described Jordanian youth as a promising and rising generation that has shown professional success at the regional level, even amidst strong competition. Momani encouraged youth to take the initiative by participating in workshops, courses, seminars, and community initiatives to become key contributors to public life, exchange knowledge, and gain leadership skills.

Momani also pointed out that younger Jordanians form a crucial pillar in the political party scene and the wider political modernisation project. He stressed the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, which consistently emphasize enhancing youth participation in political parties and the broader political landscape.

The Minister highlighted the significance of political party programmes in increasing youth involvement in the electoral process. He also underscored the importance of media and information literacy as vital tools for raising youth awareness, helping them navigate the public sphere, and counteract misinformation and falsehoods.

The “Preparing Youth Leaders” training camp was organised by the “All of Jordan Youth” initiative and attended by the Ministry’s Secretary-General Zaid Nawaisah.
