Minister, Dutch Ambassador Discuss Expanded Environmental Cooperation

Amman: Minister of Environment Ayman Suleiman met on Sunday with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Stella Kluth, to discuss ways to expand cooperation between the two countries on environmental issues, including natural resource management, climate change adaptation, and support for green projects. Suleiman underscored Jordan’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships to support its sustainability programs and plans, while the Dutch Ambassador expressed her country’s readiness to develop technical cooperation and exchange expertise to serve Jordan’s environmental priorities.

According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions highlighted the importance of international collaboration in addressing global environmental challenges. The meeting also focused on identifying areas where Dutch expertise could contribute to Jordan’s efforts in managing natural resources more efficiently and implementing climate-resilient strategies.

Both parties recognized the potential for joint initiatives aimed at promoting green projects, which could significantly contribute to sustainable development goals. The Dutch Ambassador emphasized the Netherlands’ experience in water management and renewable energy, proposing these as key areas for potential cooperation.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to establish a task force that will explore specific projects and initiatives to further solidify the environmental partnership between Jordan and the Netherlands. This task force will be responsible for developing actionable plans and ensuring effective implementation of agreed-upon projects.
