Media commission backtracks on controversial decision on ‘offensive content’

The President of the Jordanian Press Association, Rakan Saaida, said on Tuesday the Association had struck an agreement with the Media Commission to freeze procedures related to a circular it had issued on “offensive content and content of unknown origin.”

Saaida agreed over the phone with the President of the Media Commission to hold a meeting to discuss the circular amid an emphasis on the importance and necessity of protecting media freedom and not harming it.
