Lower House denounces assassination of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh

The Lower House of Parliament on Wednesday condemned the Israeli occupation forces assassination of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh early today in Jenin in the West Bank.

“This crime of assassination is part of the continuous crimes of the occupation against the Palestinian people and an attempt to cover up fro these crimes by targeting the media and journalists,” the Lower House said in a statement.

It pointed out that the martyrdom of Abu Aqleh is an addition to the sacrifices of the Palestinian people and their legitimate national struggle to achieve their right to freedom and liberation.

It underlined that this crime of assassination will not discourage the Palestinian people from continuing the struggle and fight for their legitimate rights, in order to establish an independent Palestinian state on the Palestinian national soil, with Jerusalem as its capital.

The Lower House added that this crime calls for a clear condemnation by the international community against that “state” as a racist entity that practices the most heinous human crimes against a defenseless people, in addition to holding this entity accountable for its crimes and criminal practices.

The Lower House expressed its deepest condolences to the martyr’s family, Palestinian journalists, and the entire Palestinian people.
