Lower House chief conveys message from King to Bahrain Monarch

Lower House Speaker Abdul Karim Dughmi on Monday conveyed a letter from His Majesty King Abdullah II to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, which was handed to Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The Crown Prince of Bahrain received Dughmi and an accompanying parliamentary delegation and expressed the Gulf Arab state’s keen interest in enhancing cooperation between the two brotherly countries, according to a Lower House statement.

Sheikh Salman noted the level of coordination and consultation between the leaderships of the two countries as they see eye to eye on many issues and endeavour to fulfil the interests of the two brotherly peoples, said the statement.

The Lower House Speaker stressed the “deep and solid brotherly relations” between the two countries and peoples, and keenness to consolidate them, it said.

Dughmi stressed the key role of parliamentarians in building bridges in support of Arab and Islamic issues, pointing to existing cooperation between the parliaments of Jordan and Bahrain and their efforts to coordinate positions in various Arab and international forums.
