Local Administration Minister and AUDI Director Confer on Urban Development Projects

Amman: Minister of Local Administration, Walid Masri, engaged in discussions with the Director of the Arab Urban Development Institute (AUDI), Dr. Anas Almughairy, focusing on enhancing cooperation for the Green Activities in Arab Cities Project. This initiative aims at improving the quality of life in urban areas by actively involving local communities in afforestation efforts.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting emphasized the dissemination of relevant knowledge and the enhancement of environmental awareness through various training programs. The discussions also included the drafting of reports to support Arab municipalities and explored the potential for rehabilitating small, neglected areas in public parks with the involvement of local residents. Additionally, they discussed utilizing neighborhood spaces for planting purposes.

During the meeting, Masri highlighted the significant role of the AUDI in supporting urban development and enhancing the capabilities of Arab cities. He advocated for strengthened partnerships to tackle common challenges in digital transformation, climate change, and sustainability, which are essential for building a better future for cities and their inhabitants.

Almughairy expressed the importance of close cooperation with the Ministry of Local Administration and underscored the need to expand joint efforts in various development fields, particularly in digital transformation areas.
