LH Foreign Affairs Committee Engages with Egyptian Ambassador on Enhanced Cooperation

Amman: The Lower House (LH) Foreign Affairs Committee, led by MP Haitham Ziyadin, convened with Egyptian Ambassador Khaled Abyad to explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing joint cooperation, particularly in the realm of parliamentary affairs.

According to Jordan News Agency, Ziyadin lauded the "deep-rooted" Jordanian-Egyptian relations, describing them as an "advanced model of pan-Arab cooperation" founded on ongoing coordination and mutual understanding between the leaderships of both nations. He emphasized the importance of building on existing achievements to further solidify the partnership in various sectors.

Ziyadin highlighted the House's commitment to fortifying its connection with its Egyptian counterpart through the activation of parliamentary friendship committees and the exchange of legislative expertise. These efforts, he noted, are pivotal in advancing parliamentary performance and promoting shared interests.

Ambassador Abyad affirmed the "strong" brotherly ties between the two countries and expressed Egypt's eagerness to bolster frameworks for bilateral cooperation. He praised the high level of mutual coordination on issues of shared concern.

The meeting also addressed a range of regional and international developments, underscoring the necessity for continued collaboration, consultation, and coordination to enhance security and stability while serving mutual interests.
