Legal affairs minister meets with US ambassador

Minister of State for Legal Affairs, Wafaa Bani Mustafa, met Sunday with US Ambassador to Jordan Henry Wooster for a discussion on ways to enhance joint cooperation, especially in legal fields.

In the meeting, attended by USAID Mission Director, Sherry Carlin, Bani Mustafa lauded deep-rooted ties between Jordan and the US, expressing appreciation for the US support for Jordan in various fields.

She also highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts within the framework of modernizing the political system, represented by the draft constitutional amendments, the two draft electoral and parties laws referred to the Parliament, which would activate partisan work and increase women and youth participation in political work.

The meeting touched on the need for continued coordination and cooperation to serve the relations between the two countries and contribute to opening new horizons for cooperation in all fields.

The US envoy, in turn, expressed his country’s continuous support for the Kingdom at various levels, especially with regard to economic and development reform efforts and modernizing the political system, lauding the distinguished level of ties between the two countries in the past years.
