Amman: Lebanon's Parliament announced on Monday that it will postpone the parliamentary elections, initially scheduled for May, for a period of two years due to the ongoing war in the region.
According to Jordan News Agency, the parliament's Speakership released a press statement indicating that the General Assembly of Parliament has approved the extension of its mandate for an additional two years. The decision saw 76 members voting in favor of the extension, 41 opposing it, and four members choosing to abstain from the vote.
