Amman: The Lower House's Health and Food Committee on Monday visited the University of Jordan Hospital, where a dozen injured children from the Gaza Strip are receiving treatment. MP Ahmad Sarahneh, head of the committee, stated that the visit was intended to monitor the condition of the children, especially those with severe wounds. This initiative follows directives by His Majesty King Abdullah II and HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to provide necessary health services for Gaza children in Jordan.
According to Jordan News Agency, MP Ahmad Sarahneh emphasized the collaboration among government bodies, including the Ministry of Health, hospitals, and medical centers, to ensure that the children receive the required medical support. Coordination with international humanitarian organizations, such as the World Health Organization, is also underway to offer urgent medical assistance.
University of Jordan Hospital director Nader Bsoul confirmed that the health facility is fully equipped to receive the injured children, with operating rooms and intensive care units prepared to handle emergency cases. Chief physician, Dr. Iyad Al-Amouri, reported that the hospital has received 11 injured children from Gaza so far, including some with serious injuries from shelling. He added that the medical staff are committed to providing the highest level of care to these children.
Members of the parliamentary committee assured their continued support for health and medical services for the Gaza children, highlighting Jordan's commitment to addressing the humanitarian challenges faced in the Strip.
