Labor Minister Youssef Shamali Wednesday discussed with an Iraqi delegation headed by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Adel al-Rikabi means for enhancing cooperation in various areas related to labor.

The meeting also tackled utilizing available opportunities in addition to two memoranda of understanding that will be signed in areas of vocational training and social affairs.

The visit, Shamali noted, is part of efforts aimed at boosting cooperation in various fields and discussing projects within the framework of the Jordanian-Iraqi-Egyptian cooperation, especially following the recent tripartite summit in Baghdad, and the Jordanian-Iraqi joint committee’s meetings.

Shamali underlined Jordan’s commitment to developing cooperation with Iraq in the field of labor to serve their interests, pointing to the robustness of ties under the directives of the leaders of the two countries.

Al-Rikabi said that the Iraqi government is committed to enhancing cooperation with Jordan and removing any barriers, stressing the depth of the historical ties.

The Iraqi minister also stressed that the tripartite coordination, between Jordan, Iraq and Egypt, will boost cooperation and coordination on labor issues.
