Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II held a meeting with World Health Organisation (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Wednesday, where they discussed health priorities at the national and regional levels.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting took place at Basman Palace and was attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. During the discussions, His Majesty King Abdullah II expressed Jordan's readiness to expand cooperation with WHO to advance national health objectives and enhance mechanisms for addressing health challenges.
His Majesty also conveyed appreciation for the support WHO has provided to various health programmes in Jordan. The meeting additionally touched upon regional developments, with the King emphasizing the importance of strengthening international efforts to deliver humanitarian aid and medical supplies to Gaza without restrictions.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, and Minister of Health Ibrahim Bdour.
