With the backdrop of the ongoing U.S.-Israel-Iran conflict, King Abdullah's visit underscores Jordan's unwavering commitment to the sovereignty and security of its Gulf neighbors, emphasizing that any harm to these territories is unacceptable.
According to Jordan News Agency, political analysts interpret the King's engagements in the Gulf as a decisive move to directly address regional tensions. These efforts aim to condemn Iranian incursions that threaten state sovereignty and international peace, while also seeking to galvanize global initiatives to de-escalate the situation and prevent further provocations against neighboring Arab states.
During the meetings, King Abdullah highlighted the critical importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital conduit for global energy and trade. He warned that threats to this key maritime passage could have severe international repercussions and stressed the need for adherence to international and maritime law.
The King also voiced concerns about the potential exploitation of the regional conflict to infringe upon worshippers' rights at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and alter realities in the West Bank and Gaza.
