King Abdullah II and Japan Defence Minister Discuss Regional Cooperation and Humanitarian Efforts

Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II met with Japan Defence Minister Nakatani Gen on Thursday to discuss ways to enhance defence and military cooperation between Jordan and Japan. The meeting also addressed pressing regional issues, including the humanitarian situation in Gaza, escalations in the West Bank, and recent developments in Syria and Lebanon.

According to Jordan News Agency, King Abdullah emphasized the necessity of intensifying efforts to achieve a ceasefire and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to all areas of Gaza. He commended Japan’s significant role in strengthening humanitarian efforts in the region. Minister Nakatani, in turn, acknowledged Jordan’s crucial role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.

The meeting was attended by Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Hneiti, and Japan’s Ambassador to Jordan Asari Hideki.
