JWPF calls for more attention to PwD issues

Head of the Jordanian Women Parliamentarian Forum (JWPF), MP Safa Momani, called on the government to assume its moral and humanitarian responsibilities towards persons with disabilities (PwD), and pay attention to their demands.

Chairing a JWPF meeting on Sunday, problems and demands of people with disabilities’ centers were discussed.

Momani referred to His Majesty King Abdullah II’s directives to pay attention to PwD and his field visits to centers to check on services provided to these people.

“The concerned authorities do not show the required interest in the PwD, who suffered negligence, in addition to the declining services provided in the PwD centers,” Momani pointed out.

In turn, the JWPF’s members stressed the importance of taking all measures to provide the “best” PwD services and to employ qualified workers, who can handle PwD circumstances.

In a JWPF separate meeting, the mechanism of its work and its future plans were discussed, where Momani stressed the need to intensify efforts to achieve its vision.
